Features
Checkout modes
Description
Hosted Checkout Page (full redirect)
When using the full redirect option of the Hosted Checkout Page, your customers will only see a single "Pay" button on the merchant checkout. When clicking it, they will be redirected to the payment page where they can choose between all available payment methods to complete the transaction.
Hosted Checkout Page (single payment buttons)
When using the single payment buttons option of the Hosted Checkout Page, your customers will choose their desired payment method on the checkout page. Choosing one will redirect them to a dedicated payment page to process the transaction.
Hosted Tokenization Page (embedded checkout)
When using the Hosted Tokenization Page, you will use an iframe to embed the credit/debit card form directly into your store's checkout page. That allows your customers to pay without ever leaving your shop, while security is still guaranteed by the payment service provider (PSP).
Customer experience
Description
Tokenisation
The plugin will save your customers' card data for future use when they give consent. Here's how tokenisation works:
- Tokens are saved only when your customer gives consent, and the payment is successful.
- Your customers can access and delete the saved card data in their accounts.
- Your customers can select and use one of the saved tokens on the checkout page.
- The system does not check tokens for validity, and customers cannot update their tokens from their accounts directly.
Subscriptions & recurring payments
Subscriptions & recurring payments allow your customers to select products as part of a recurring order. This order may or may not have a definite end date.
Payment page design customisation
This feature allows you to adapt the look and feel of your Hosted Checkout Page and Hosted Tokenization Page to your web store's design.
Group cards
This feature allows you to group all credit card payment methods into one group "Cards" on the Hosted Checkout Page.
All active card payment methods in your account are included in this group. Once your customers select "Cards", we redirect them to the payment mask for entering the card number.
Cart persistence
This feature ensures that the customer's cart always persists. The contents of the cart are saved even if the payment fails or the customer clicks the back button of the browser.
Remove cart details on the payment page
This option allows you to choose if you want to display cart details on your payment page. Removing cart details from your payment page will sometimes resolve rounding issues that may occur.
Cart details are mandatory for Buy Now Pay Later payment methods like Klarna to work properly. Without them, you will not be able to process payments with these providers.
Update payment method title
This option allows you to configure the payment button title on your Hosted Checkout Page. By default, we propose one title translated into FR, NL, DE, ES, and IT. You can customise the title for each language.
Update payment method logo
This option allows you to change, delete or revert to its default value the logo you use next to the "Pay" button on your Hosted Checkout Page.
Delete tokens
This option allows your customers to delete saved cards (tokens) from their account on your website. Doing that will delete them from the CMS and the PAYONE platform.
Payment management
Description
Authorisation and Direct Sale
Allows you to choose between Authorisation and Direct Sale modes for your checkouts. These modes represent two different payment flows:
- Authorisation: When processing payments, you only block the amount you want to charge for the order on your customer's card/bank account. You will need to eventually capture this authorisation to receive the payment. There are two types of authorisation:
- FINAL_AUTHORIZATION - Only blocks the order amount for 7 days. You can cancel the authorisation at any time, but only fully. Supports only full captures.
- PRE_AUTHORIZATION - Only blocks the order amount up to 30 days. You can cancel the authorisation at any time, both fully and partially. Supports both full and partial captures.
- Direct Sale: You block and capture the amount you want to charge for the order on your customer’s card/bank account in one go. The customer's card is charged immediately, and the funds are transferred to you. Supports only full captures.
These modes apply to the whole checkout process. We can't distinguish different values for specific payment methods.
Maintenance operations
The plugin gives you several options on how to follow up on existing transactions:
- Capture payment (partial & full) - Allows you to partially or fully capture an authorised transaction.
- Refund payment (partial & full) - Allows you to partially or fully refund a payment.
- Cancel payment (partial & full) - Allows you to partially or fully cancel an authorised transaction.
- Automatically capture transactions - You can configure the plugin to automatically send a capture request for the full amount of authorised orders in several different intervals:
- At the end of the day
- After one day
- After two days
- After three days
- After four days
- After five days
- After six days
- After seven days
Mind that you still need to implement the related cron jobs on your server despite using our plugin.
You can still configure the plugin to capture orders manually if you want.
Define the number of authorised payment attempts
Allows you to choose how many times a customer can try to process a payment before declaring the transaction as failed.
Define session timeout
Allows you to define how long a payment page will be valid.
By default, a payment page is valid for 3 hours.
Failed operations notifications
Allows you to send custom notifications to a specific email when an order fails for technical reasons (e.g. a failed amount check, products not in stock anymore). That helps you notice errors quickly and take manual action when automated order processing fails.
Automatic refund of failed orders
Allows you to automatically refund payments for which no order was created (e.g. insufficient inventory).
Refund from Merchant Portal
Allows you to refund payments from your payment service provider's Merchant Portal and integrate the refund result directly into the plugin.
MOTO transactions
Allows you to take orders via phone or email.
Order creation on amount discrepancy
This feature allows our platform to create orders in a "Review" state if it detects a discrepancy between the amounts before and after the payment.
3-D Secure
Description
Enable/Disable 3-D Secure
Allows you to completely deactivate the 3-D Secure process and never ask customers for authentication.
Using 3-D Secure is mandatory in Europe, or you risk seeing all your card transactions declined.
Make 3-D Secure authentication mandatory
Allows you to require customer authentication for every transaction.
Customisable exemption requests
Allows you to request a 3-D Secure authentication exemption from the acquirer. You can request two types of exemptions:
- Low value: Request an authentication exemption for any transaction below 30 EUR (configurable).
- Transaction risk analysis: Transactions under 100 EUR that are deemed low risk may be exempt from 3-D Secure authentication if you have an agreement with your acquirer.
